On March 17, 2009, Tracy and Jen (Farnaus) VanHoutan's life changed forever. Their 5 year-old son, Noah, was diagnosed with a life threatening, rapidly progressing disease called Batten Disease that at this time has no FDA approved treatment. This disease shuts down the nervous system since the do not have an enzyme that breaks down protein and builds as waste. Their world shattered again when they learned that Noah's 3 yr old sister Laine also has the disease. It was August 17, 2009, exactly five months to the day when Noah was diagnosed. Click on the following link to read their story...www.noahshope.com

Our mission is to support the family especially Jen, Tracy and Emily (who found Laine when she had her first seizure, and told us that “Lainey was shaking".) in their search for alternative treatments that will slow the progression and someday, ultimately cure this horrible disease. We all care too much to stand by helpless. Please show your love and support by attending this fundraiser.

For your donation, guests will enjoy
One Stir Fry, Soup and Salad, Soft Drinks with Tip and Tax included. All proceeds will go to support this AMAZING family during this journey.

Grillin' for Hope fundraiser for Noah and Laine

Two young siblings in Downers Grove are fighting a devastating terminal illness called Batten Disease. Five-year-old Noah VanHoutan was a normal, healthy little boy until two years ago. Now, he can no longer walk or talk. His 3-year-old sister Laine was recently diagnosed with Batten Disease and has just suffered her first seizures.
At this time, Batten Disease is always fatal, usually between the ages of 8 and 12.
A fundraiser for Noah and Laine called “Grillin’ for Hope” will be held on March 25th at BD’s Mongolian Grill at the Bolingbrook Promenade.
The event will feature a fun atmosphere featuring family and friends acting as Guest Grillers alongside the BD’s staff, delicious food, drinks, laughter, games, silent auctions, wonderful prizes and much more.
All proceeds will support treatment for Noah and Laine, and research
for Batten Disease.
Please help these very special children by donating a gift certificate or other game prize.
Or, become an official Sponsor of Hope with a donation to sponsor a game at the event. All donations are tax-deductible.
The Sponsorship Tiers are:

Your generous tax-deductible donation will not only help these very special children, but will also position your business in front of thousands of potential clients.
